ENCOUNTER WITH COMRADE ABBA MORO 2

The first part of this testimony was published about six weeks ago. As we cruise into the final hours of the general elections, I am writing this second piece to remind voters of the need to vote for Comrade Abba Moro enable him represent Benue South Senatorial District in the next National Assembly. The Senate is meant for robust debates as Senators strive to make laws for the good governance of Nigeria. As a result, anybody that will represent Benue South Senatorial District in the Ninth Senate must be somebody who can hold the Senate spell-bound with quality arguments on topical, national and international issues. Listening to Comrade Abba Moro discussing national and other issues is often delightful. He is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding orators in the country today. Also, our next Senator must be a team player; Comrade Abba Moro is a man of the people and is always at home with people who work with him. In fact, even long after he has left an office, his relationship with those who worked with him remains robust. Our next Senator must be ready to help his people with projects and jobs. Comrade Abba Moro is in good stead here because he has helped many people from Benue South Senatorial District to secure government jobs. His initial plan was to assist at least 300 people to secure government jobs every quarter while he served as Minister. Our next Senator must not be a “big man”; in other words he must be accessible to the people. Comrade Abba Moro has always maintained an open-door policy in his relationship with people. His homes at Ugbokolo, Otukpo, Makurdi and Abuja have always welcomed visitors and he is always ready to listen to such visitors. And it does not matter where you hail from; he is always ready to listen to you. Our next Senator must be generous; Comrade Abba Moro is a very generous person and will always ensure that no one leaves his house without a bite and without getting solutions for his problems. Our next Senator must also have national connections. Comrade Abba Moro is connected to several prominent political leaders and would be in a good position to attract projects to Benue South Senatorial District. As a Minister, he was quite close to several of his colleagues, especially the then Minister of Works, which was how he attracted SURE-P funds for the initial rehabilitation works on the Otukpo-Ugbokolo road. Our next Senator must be a special person with the above qualities, so voting for Comrade Abba Moro will give the people of Benue South Senatorial District fulfilling representation in the National Assembly.
